When we give you a quotation for the installation of powerpoints it is important to know if you require the power point on an external or internal wall and whether it is a cavity wall (double brick) or single brick wall. The reason is that cavity walls have space to allow cables to be fed through. A single brick wall does not allow cables to “hide” in the wall, meaning that you will either a require a capping (conduit / ducting) that sits on the wall to hold the electrical wires, or “chasing” into wall. Chasing is where a cavity is made in the existing internal wall and can be expensive as replastering and re-painting needs to occur after the electrical job is completed. It is always best to try to place new fittings on cavity walls as all wires will be hidden which ultimately will look better, however we can provide both services depending on your requirements.
